You may not think it at first, but how and what we eat is often determined by our personality.
Although food cravings can determine what and when we eat, our main personality traits dictate what foods we like and exactly how we eat them.
Are you a slow or fast eater?
For example, if you tend to eat slowly, you like being in control and enjoying life, Julia Hormes, Ph.D., a psychologist specializing in eating behavior, told HuffPost.
But fast eaters tend to be ambitious and impatient – does that sound like you?
Fast eaters are generally excellent multitaskers too. They also make excellent partners due to their generous nature.
Meanwhile, the love for trying new foods often brings out your adventurous side.
While picky eaters tend to show anxiety and neuroticism.
Aside from speed, your food preferences say a lot about you too, from how you like your eggs or steak to how you cook your toast.
“We don’t often examine in depth what we eat and how we eat it. However, the way we prepare and eat our food can say a lot about who we are and our personalities,” said Lee Chambers, expert psychologist at Fabulous.
“The way we prepare our food is often a window into how we plan and build our way of life.
“As for how our food is about to eat, it shines a light on the type of person we are, whether we play it safe or like risk, competitive or relaxed, and even symbolic of what you represent. . “
EGGS – HARD OR SOFT?
How do you like your eggs is a frequently asked question, but the answer really says a lot about you as a person.
Lee revealed that hard-boiled egg lovers are patient, resilient and cautious, but those who love their eggs soft are often reactive, imaginative and energetic.
SCONES – JAM OR CREAM FIRST?
It’s no secret that Brits love a scone, but which comes first – jam or cream – has long been a matter of debate.
The good news is that there is no right answer, but what you choose reflects some key traits.
Those who brush with jam first are considered dignified, courteous and charming.
Which makes sense because the Queen prefers her jam to cream, her former chef has revealed.
Those who go straight into cream, however, are adventurous, colorful and daring – a bold move if you ask us.
STEAK – RARE OR WELL DONE?
Have you ever wondered how some people can enjoy their steak rare while others like it burnt?
The answer lies within, according to psychology, so what does it say about you?
If you find yourself saying “well done please” when ordering a steak, you’re probably someone who takes things a little slower and conveys a considerate nature.
But for rare or medium-rare meat lovers, you could be described as outgoing, creative and excitable and someone with a lot of energy and passion in their pursuits.
CHOCOLATE – REFRIGERATOR OR ROOM TEMPERATURE?
The question is not whether you like chocolate or not, but rather where do you store it.
Some like it fresh and stored in the refrigerator while others store it at room temperature.
If the latter rings true for you, you are considered dynamic, simple and collaborative.
But if refrigerated chocolate is where it is, you are inspiring, cultured, and far-sighted.
CHIPS – CHUNKY OR FRIES?
A side of fries is a given when ordering a meal, but if you had the choice, would you opt for chunks or fries?
Chunky lovers are seen as hard-working, conservative, and loyal, while fry-lovers are often curious, hip, and young.
TOAST – LIGHT TOAST OR DARK?
The condiment you choose for your toast is often up for debate, but how you cook your toast says it all.
Lightly toasted or extra dark, that is the question – so which do you prefer?
For the golden-brown types among us, you’re considered a bit of a perfectionist, but you’re often practical and quite popular too.
But for thrill seekers who prefer a dark, crisp finish, well, you’re strong-willed, self-reliant, and a bit of an adrenaline seeker.
PEANUT BUTTER – SMOOTH OR CRUNCHY?
Speaking of toast, which peanut butter do you prefer? Is it soft and smooth or crispy?
For the romantics among us, you probably like yours smooth, which also means you’re peaceful and balanced, according to Lee.
Crunchy fans, however, are considered resourceful and thorough. You are also considered warm.
This research was commissioned by Chicago Town Pizza, the UK’s leading frozen pizza brand, which uncovered some of the country’s most polarizing food choices.
