The Lagos State Government has implored members of the state civil service to engage in personal development efforts which would help in the provision of quality services to the residents of the state.
He urged them to make themselves indispensable while remaining in service to the state government.
The Commissioner for Settlement, Training and Pensions, Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle said yesterday during the closing of the Lagos State Civil Service Competency Framework Development Project by Theta Alpha Consult, aimed at ensuring that civil servants also provide quality service to residents. to help Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu carry out the THEMES program.
Ponnle revealed that the framework report has defined the skills needs of all categories and cadres of civil servants in state employment, which means that an average civil servant can take inspiration from the report as it provides the skills technical, generic and behavioral training needed to source to meet needs if there are gaps.
The commissioner said that with the project report, officials do not need to wait for the state government to undergo training, as they could go online to find training that meets their needs.
“The idea of the project is to identify the behavioral and attitudinal skills required of each service cadre, so that we know exactly and have a global holistic view of what is needed and required by each civil servant,” Ponnle said. .
In his address, the Head of Department, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, appreciated the Commissioner and the consultants for carrying out the task and the project.
Muri-Okunola, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Samson Ajibade, implored all members of the state workforce to continue to build their skills, including ensuring that they continue to work on positive attitudinal changes for impact and quality service delivery.
Some of the six-month skills program participants applauded the state government for coming up with the project, promising to spread the knowledge to their various ministries, departments and agencies.
