Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. has enhanced its distance learning and personal development offerings to include Udemy for Business, an on-demand online education platform, the company said on Tuesday.
The fast-casual brand based in Newport Beach, Calif., Said all full-time restaurant support center employees, executive team directors, team directors and field leaders should turn to Udemy, which offers more than 5,500 courses on topics ranging from technology to wellness.
The addition of Udemy is part of the brand’s efforts to build a community for remote workers.
“Through online training opportunities, employee resource groups and its cultural committee, Chipotle provides valuable remote work experience to its employees,” the company said in a statement.
Among inclusion-based groups, Chipotle also introduced the United Influencer Network for the Promotion of Inclusion and Ethnic Diversity (UNIFIED) as a resource group for employees. UNIFIED is the company’s first group of resources in a fully virtual setting, Chipotle said.
Unified includes a Minority Mentorship Program, roundtables with top speakers and panels, and quarterly training programs to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
UNIFIED this month is hosting a virtual book club in honor of Black History Month. The group will provide all participating employees with a free copy of the selected book.
âOur employees seek real connection more than ever, and it is our responsibility to cultivate an environment where they can continue to thrive and pursue their passions with like-minded colleagues, even in a virtual setting,â said Marissa Andrada, Chipotle’s head of Diversity, Inclusion and People, said in a statement.
Other resource groups for employees include those for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning employers as well as one for women in the workplace and one for wellness.
As of December 23, Chipotle Mexican Grill had over 2,750 restaurants in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France and Germany.
