DSDP Award Winners: The 2nd Annual District Skills Development Planning Excellence Awards was held at the Dr Ambedkar International Center. The top 30 districts were recognized with the 2022 District Skill Development Planning Awards for their innovative best practices in skills development in the region. Rajkot in Gujarat, Cachar in Assam and Satara in Maharashtra were ranked among the top three districts respectively.
The District Skills Development Planning Awards Ceremony brought together District Collectors, District Magistrates and other officials from 30 states. They also shared their ideas and experiences and showcased grassroots skills development work in their districts.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while congratulating all participants of the district skills development planning awards said that all skills development planning should have a link to the local economy. He added that the path to an Aatmanirbhar Bharat is through building the districts of Aatmanirbhar.

District Skills Development Planning Awards Given in 3 Categories
30 districts were selected and received District Skills Development Planning Awards in the following three categories:
Category 1: 8 District Skills Development Planning Excellence Awards
Category 2: 13 Certificate of Excellence in District Skills Development Planning
Category 3: 9 Letter of Appreciation for District Skills Development Planning
District Skills Development Planning Award: Purpose
The DSDP Awards are intended to encourage all District Skills Committees (DSCs) and promote a better understanding of district skills development planning using the implementation capacities of district-level targeted projects in India.
The DSDP awards aim to maximize the impact of SANKALP’s core initiative, which is to strengthen institutional mechanisms for skills development at state and district levels.
About the District Skills Development Planning Awards
The DSDP Awards were instituted under the Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihoods Promotion (SANKALP) Program in June 2018 to promote decentralized planning, recognize and reward the extraordinary and innovative work done by districts in the area of skills development. The first edition of the DSDP Awards was held in 2018-2019, with 228 districts from 19 states participating in the initiative.
